- The kindergarten program at St. Michael’s school is a play-based learning program offering English instruction, as well as a weekly French Language class. This is done so that parents and children have exposure to both programs and can choose from our French Immersion or English program for grade 1.
- The UFLI and Heggerty programs are the foundations of our literacy program in kindergarten. These programs are based on the Science of Reading approach and provide students with a strong foundation in phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary and sound-symbol relationship as they emerge as readers & writers.
- In math, we use a variety of math manipulatives, centers and games to create a strong base in numeracy.
- Our Catholic faith is permeated in everything we do, shaping our activities and conversations to promote Christian values and actions. We strive to always treat others with love, kindness and respect and learn to embrace our individual gifts and talents.
- Our staff firmly believes in a child-centered approach that embraces every student as a part of our school family.
- We offer two full day class options. Monday-Wednesday and alternating Fridays or Tuesday-Thursday and alternating Fridays.
- Mrs. Zoratti is our Kindergarten teacher for both classes. Mrs. McRae and Mrs. Parisis are the kindergarten Education Assistants.
